Puckered and Pleated Pitcher

George Ohr (American 1857-1918)
Circa: 1898-1910
Size: 5 3/4" L x 4" W x 4 3/4" H
Dynamic form, yet highly controlled - Ohr symmetrically folded, pulled and compressed one side to create a perfect ergonomic handle and pulled the other to create the spout. Exceptionally thin, wheel thrown and manipulated bisque-fired vessel with streaks of terra-cotta to give the clay body more visual punch. Signed on bottom in script, "G E Ohr."
